One hour mix from our mate Joff showcasing his work on the Sync Forward Podcasts. Powerful bass, rhythmic sound waves, elements chosen in a balanced way, like an engine that comes running from deep to tech. Joff is always looking for details and absorbs them, whether they come from the noise of the streets or the noise of a boat in the harbor. For him, the greatest pleasure is the sound that comes from the soul and gives life to the bodies of those who are listening. Melodic synths, strong kicks, vocals here and there, percussions, a range of choices for every occasion, it’s all part of the plan.
Monotronik is an electronic music duo established by Fredy Lourenzo and José Alves, based in the city of Porto, Portugal. It all started over a decade ago, when these two found that they shared a mutual love for Drum & Bass, Techno and Hip-Hop. It wasn’t long after that they started DJing and making music together, initially developing the project Fredy & D’Joseph. Their releases got massive feedback from prodigious artists such as Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice, Marco Carola, Luciano, DJ Sneak and Seth Troxler among many others.
Staying true to their identity, Monotronik was formed, and they have been locked in the studio for the past year working on new beats, always inspired by that characteristic 90’s house sound, defined by raw cuts, heavy basslines and 909 drum machines. The future seems promising, stay locked for further developments.
