Kalkara is a Melbourne producer who debuted on Sync Forward with the Dream Theater EP in 2020 — four tracks that gave the label one of its stronger modern techno statements in that period. The title track runs on an immediately recognisable arpeggio and elaborate percussion; Thunder brought crisp drum programming; Volare took an abstract angle that worked because the production was tight enough to hold it together. An artist who understood how to make an EP feel like a complete statement rather than a collection of tracks.
