Monotronik
Portugal
Monotronik is the duo of Fredy Lourenzo and José Alves — Porto and Luanda, two cities that show up differently in the music than either would alone. Since their first releases on Sync Forward in 2015, they've been one of the label's most consistent presences: Shards, Dualities, Freak Out, Mandala, Bad Shape — a catalog that values stripped rhythms, patient sequencing, and tension that builds without resolution as a goal. Less interested in uplift than in what happens when a groove refuses to give you the release it keeps promising.
